Helmut Kand, a world famous Austrian artists based in Bali, is holding an unique exhibition of paintings and Balinese wooden sculptures at the Warisan Restaurant, Bar & Galleries from March 17, 2012 until April 17, 2012.
Kand, an Austrian, has won numerous awards including the City of Salzburg Art Prize; the title of "Honorary Professor" bestowed by Austrian President Heinz Fischer; and has even designed stamps for the Austrian postal system. He has exhibited his work throughout Europe. the U.S.A., Canada, South America and Asia. His work is also held by important private collectors and included in the museum collections in Paris, Vienna, Graz, Athens, Basel, Bali, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne, Buenos Aires and Lisbon.
The current Bali exhibition "Heart in Bali – Head in Vienna" includes 13 wooden sculptures carved by Balinese artist Ketut Radio and surrealistically painted by Helmut Kand and his team of Bali artisans.
